Dr. Odom's Chiropractic Methods
Diversified Chiropractic Technique
At Odom Chiropractic in Grovetown, GA and Aiken, SC, Dr. Odom performs what is known as the Diversified Chiropractic Technique.
The Diversified Technique, debated to have originated from Dr. D.D. Palmer in the late 19th century, is a foundational chiropractic method centered on correcting spinal misalignments (subluxations) to enhance nerve function and overall health. Dr. Otto Reinert is said to later have refined this approach in the mid-20th century, emphasizing precise manual adjustments to the spine and joints for proper alignment and improved nervous system function.
Today, this technique remains a globally utilized cornerstone in chiropractic care. Dr. Odom specializes in the Chiropractic Diversified Technique, employing personalized evaluations to tailor adjustments for individual patients. His method swiftly alleviates issues like back pain, headaches, and joint discomfort, offering immediate relief within a welcoming, familial atmosphere.

Thompson Drop-Table Technique
Developed by Dr. Clay Thompson in the 1950s, this method uses a specialized table with segmented drop pieces, refining spinal adjustments for comfort and precision. When pressure is applied, these segments subtly drop, aiding in gentle, targeted adjustments without forceful thrusts.
Patients benefit from lying comfortably on this table, allowing Dr. Odom to perform specific manipulations across the body. This technique, while gentle, effectively addresses spinal misalignments, joint dysfunctions, and nerve-related issues. Its precision caters to diverse body sizes and conditions, offering a versatile solution in Dr. Odom's care approach.
The Activator Method Chiropractic Technique
Dr. Odom also employs a handheld instrument called the Activator Adjusting Instrument. Developed in the late 1960s, this method delivers precise, low-force adjustments to the spine and joints without manual manipulation.
Dr. Odom's expertise lies in using this instrument to provide controlled impulses to specific areas, addressing spinal misalignments and joint issues effectively. Patients find this technique comfortable and tailored to their needs, as it offers gentle adjustments suited to various conditions.
